Our Year in Review

New Years Eve 2011:  Woke up 6AM PST, flew LAX to JFK, arrived 4:00PM EST to our new apartment in New York City, Bought our Subway Passes, headed into Times Square for a walk around, ate at 5 Napkin Burger and Magnolia Bakery on 49th, and came home and fell asleep on our new mattress, watching Modern Family, 10:30EST.

New Years Eve 2012:  Woke up 8AM (South Africa Time is 6hrs ahead of EST), Escorted a tour around Durban, South Africa, Blew up Balloons and Decorated for 2 hours, Rehearsed and performed an ABBA show, Changed to formal attire and ate a 7 course meal, Danced and Threw Confetti in the Main Restaurant At Sea on a Luxury Cruise Ship.

Oh, and Ivan and I did a Movie Rating of all our 2012 viewings: Ivan saw new 31 movies, I saw 22.  We agreed (but not in the same order) our favorite three were Brave, Avengers and Hunger Games!

I am happy to be overseas, away from Fiscal Cliff Schmiff nonsense and looking forward to a fabulous 2013!

This year, I also read the entire Book of Mormon!  It took me all year! I read every day January-March, most days on the middle months, and everyday October 20-December 31.  It took me about 1 hour to read 15 pages... This year my goal is to read it again, only faster!  I believe the Book of Mormon to be the word of God!  I proudly call myself a Mormon, although Mormon is just a nickname.  I belong to the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.  We believe in Heavenly Father and in His Son, Jesus Christ, and in The Holy Ghost.  While working on the cruise ship, I meet many international guests.  Many of them find out we are Mormon and out pops the questions.  A man last night was from Cape Town and said he was unreligious.  He said, "So Muslims believe in Mohammad, Catholics believe in God, and Mormons believe in this J. Smith guy." This year I have learned a lot about different religions.  I also learned that many people simply don't know or take the time to learn about other religions.  If you want to know about the "Mormon" or Latter-day Saint religion, please ask a mormon, or ask me!  I told the man from Cape Town,  We believe in God, His Son and the Holy Ghost.  As a Mormon, I believe that God sends us Modern day prophets, like Joseph Smith.  In the Old Testament, the people had prophets like Noah, Moses and Abraham.  We have prophets too, including our current prophet, Thomas S. Monson.  As a Mormon, and part of a Mormon Couple, I have a pretty normal life.  I am married to only one man (and vice versa.)  I try to be as happy as I can and I try to live modestly, honestly and faithfully.  It doesn't always happen, but I try.  I LOVE the gospel of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and I know it to be true!  This year, by rereading the Book of Mormon, I gained a greater testimony in Jesus Christ.
And when ye shall receive these things I would exhort you that ye would ask God, the Eternal Father, in the name of Christ, if these things are true; and if ye shall ask with a sincere heart, with real intent, having faith in Christ, he will manifest the truth of it unto you, by the power of the Holy Ghost.
