Monterey, California

I am having Girls' Trip in Monterey!  It my youngest sister's birthday and we are cruising
Fisherman's Wraf in STYLE!

Monterey is only a four hour drive from my home near Malibu and a beautiful drive up Pacific Coast Highway!  This is what roadtripping is all about! Plus it made me Love California even more!

First things first while on vacation, I had to dress in a cute outfit!

We were actually in the car for about 5 hours, so I forgot about doing my hair.  Roadtrips with these girls made for multiple bathroom stops, arguments over music to listen to, confusion with directions, and really getting to know each other in a brand new way.  We were so excited to finally make it to our hotel at 6:30 on Saturday night!  After a quick change, we made a quick walk to the wharf where we were served at least 4 different samples of Clam Chowder, so we compared and contrasted and had a nice long while to make our dinner decision.  During our chowder sipping, we ran into 4 members of our family!  My aunt, uncle and two of their daughters and their friend.  One of my cousins goes to Cal State Monterey and they were dropping her off at school.  Small world right!  I love the U.S., I love California and I love running into family!  Frequently overseas I imagined how awesome i would be to "run into someone" while in a foreign country, just like how i always run into someone when I'm at Disneyland.  I have even run into someone while on the same exact subway car and while camping!  So hey, that international hope wasn't too far off, right?  Anyway, finally when I was back in California, I ran into my family and it was pretty random and awesome!  They are all wonderful people and we walked around the wharf and watched the seals together.
The girls and I all agreed that Gilbert's Clam Chowder was the best, so we went inside for a bowl and had an amazing view!  Then, it was off to candy-eating!  There were 3 or 4 candy shops on the wharf.

all of them super charming, and with plenty of choices!

some of them more friendly than others..

The next day in Monterey was filled with 2 hours of walking, photographing my two favorites and enjoying the wildlife and street life before heading back out on the road!

Can you tell I love California?
