The Best Day SO FAR!!
Ivan and I got up early and took a taxi to the Grand Mosque. It is giant- I haven’t seen anything else like it!! It’s one of the only mosques they allow non-Muslims to enter and it was gorgeous. Then we went to the mall, ate greasy American fast food, got new earrings at Forever 21 and stocked up on junk food at Carrefour- a U.A.E. Wal-Mart equivalent. We finally felt like “YES! This is what we signed up for!” I hope to have more days like that. Lately, all the ports we have stopped at you need and extra Visa. Each one is different and cost about $40 for one day. The guest’s say that the ports are “garbage” (most are British) anyway so I don’t feel like I am missing out. I am looking forward to more civilized places.. Of course, being in Al Manamah, Bahrain today is a once in a life time opportunity although I am just sitting on a ship looking out at it J
