Holiday Thank-You's

I just wanted to kick-off my year with a big swell "thank you" to a few holiday helpers:

Paper Plates & Paper Cups!
The time I save doing dishes means more to be than being classy.  Thank you!

Swiffer Sweeper!
You are just so much easier than a broom I can't hardly stand it! I can never go back.

After Christmas Sales!
Stocking-up at the end of the year-no greater feeling!

Candles!
You really made my holidays brighter, more peaceful and more yummy smelling.

Husband!
Just one incredible guy who gets me a Diet Coke when I need one, gives me kisses and cuddles and is always there to listen.  My New Years resolution is to love you more.  Sometimes I am really bad at it, so I pray I can do this!!

Thank you Holiday Helpers!!!
Happy New Year!!

Let me just say, HOLY CRAP, 2013 was one long adventure and I am happy for a fresh 14 start!  Blessings to all!!!

November Gratitudes III

 NY November Gratitudes III
1.) Working in a Fancy Office
Okay, not fancy, just normal, but fancy is such a nice word it requires italics!

2.)Karaoke
the best songs to sing: (Hit Me) Baby One More Time, Greatest Love of All, It's All Coming Back to me Now

3.)Trader Joe's
Healthy Food, Low prices, Long lines, Crew in Hawaiian shirts, what's not to love?

4.) Smiling
I am concerned, but also grateful to those people who smile all the time.  If you think I am one of those people, I plead not guilty and here's why: I live in NY and if you are NOT wearing a black peacoat and looking stern when you walk around in the morning, people think you're a tourist- not cool!; And, I only smile at people, not things.

Yes, I am a smiling slut.  The bag-boy at the grocery store, the missionary knocking at my door and even strangers walking by, I dish out the smiles!  I don't smile when I'm alone, while I doing stuff at home, when I'm writing, thinking, whenever.  I smile when I see other people.  And it's because, well, I like people! I like human interaction and I love friends.  I know several people who are totally fine with the friends they have and just live contently with their posse of peeps.  I love my friends, but why stay content when you can always have MORE friends?
This could stem from a very selfish reasoning of: I like being the center of attention and I'm a people pleaser!

I would be most happy if everyone in the world liked me and I could be friends with them all!  Strangely sad that my idea of happiness will probably never come true.  That being said, I am very grateful that I have the best friends. People who are genuine, respectful and honestly, freaking beautiful and awesome AND hysterical. I hit the friend jackpot! bring bring!

Today I am grateful for smiling because I feel so much better when I do! So although, I smile at people, I rarely smile when I'm alone. However, two times I recently had a smile attack.
The first happened last Tuesday.  I had been working overtime the previous week and I kept looking forward to Tuesday because that was my free day to run errands with Ivan and see a movie: Thor.  We bought tickets from Costco, so we saved money and got free popcorn and drink: winning!  I had to go the bathroom in the middle of the movie (hate that) but as i turned down the hall in a fast walk as to not miss an important part, I skipped a little and smiled so big because I love being with Ivan and I love doing fun things! Seriously.
(we'll forget that as I left I missed the only kissing scene in the whole movie.. dangit)
Moving on, today was my second smiling fit because I am just having a fun time this afternoon. I am at Gratitude 1.) Working my fancy job, and eating a salad from 3.) Trader Joe's and just feeling awesome that I have a 9-5 job in New York and I walk down 5th Avenue to get here and I have awesome friends that i just sang 2.) Karaoke with this weekend and I just can't keep from 4.) Smiling! Things are really great!

November Gratitudes II

This month I can remember all my blessings.
It's not about bragging.
It's not about listing.
It's not because I am overwhelmed with happiness.
Showing gratitude this month is about reminding myself why I am here and how I am blessed!

This Gorgeous Day & My Glorious iPhone

November NY Gratitude I:
I live in the most amazing city in the world! I love it more and more each day! Grateful!

The weather is the best I've been in all year.  63, the sun is shining but not too bright- you are comfortable in anything you wear and 1 other thing: New York Fall! Orange, yellow, brown, green, holiday music, delicious smells, farmers markets, apple cider, street fair, dogs with jackets, trees, trees and trees! Grateful!

I love paper! Yes, that's a title of my Pinterest board.. But right now I love Rifle Paper Company and my iPhone & its case is simply glorious and I am Grateful!
isn't it just lovely?

I do, however, want a new one from RPC for Christmas
ahhh! I just love it and am so happy to be a New Yorkaaah!

I took the most gorgeous photos on this glorious Saturday and am so grateful for the weather,
my technology & this city!

I take the 7 train from Queens and get off at the 2nd to last stop: 5th Ave/Bryant Park and the park is already in full swing!  There are shops and restaurants lining the ice skating rink they put in every fall/winter.  I can't wait to start getting into the holiday spirit!  Here was my view getting OFF the train and seeing Bryant park for the first time in 1 year!  Left: Unedited; Right: Help from iPhoto
Below: After Bryant Park, walk east on 42nd, view the Chrysler Building, and arrive at the NY Public Library on 5th Ave. (seen here, a headless woman reading a book..maybe she was late for Halloween, just kidding she was very old and must have had some neck problems but anyways: This picture is awesome!!) Continue east on 42nd Street and arrive at Grand Central Station.  My favorite part is the Grand Central Markets- beautiful gourmet groceries, from fresh fish to baked goods and flowers!

Enjoy an afternoon at all 3 NYC tourist attractions, conveniently located just blocks from each other!
